Ta-da! Here's my rendition of Wenda's Costume! :3
I really like. I think it's pretty wearable. That's what I was aiming for - a Halloween costume that I won’t just wear once and have it take up space in my closet and dresser. The only thing I'll have to adjust is the hat. It was actually for my boyfriend, but he says the one I had was a better fit. I'm bad with measurements! >.<
This is how I created a wearable Wenda costume. These items can be found in most wardrobes. I first planned on making her shirt off-the-shoulder, but when I went to Yardage Town (a fabric store), they didn't have any stripes. :[ Luckily my boyfriend and I saw that striped long sleeve in the mall. It seems stripes are in season again! :3
Top:
Red & white striped long sleeve shirt (~$15 at H&M)
Bottoms: An old pair of capri jeans that I had cut up and hemmed (I used Secretlifeofabionerd's video for this. Unfortunately, she removed it, but I'm sure there are plenty others out there to follow. It's simple to do.)
Leggings: Maroon DKNY leggings ($4 at Ross! I didn't want striped leggings. I don't think they'd be wearable everyday. This is totally up to you though.)
Shoes: Brown American Eagle boots (~$15 at Payless. I had these lying around for years.)
Glasses: Black reading glasses ($1 at Target! I love their clearance section. I punched out the lenses.)
Necklace: Plain golden necklace ($6 at Wal-Mart)
Camera: A gift from my friend ;) She got them at Urban Outfitters! What's cool about them is that it has a flash. It doesn't take pictures though. :[
Beanie: I bought Arctic fleece fabric from Yardage Town (~$8. Watch Secretlifeofabionerd's video here. To make the red ball, follow the instructions for here! You're just making Kirby's body. Stuff it with fleece scraps.)
And that's all to it! I hope this will inspire you all to create your own rendition of Wenda's costume. ;)
My costume is complete. Now it's my boyfriend's turn to find Waldo!Labels: Costume
